One of the best prospects in baseball is honing his talents at Triple A Worchester right now. Outfielder Roman Anthony is tearing the cover off the ball in the highest level of the minors, hitting .303 with eight home runs and 23 RBIs through 53 games in 2025.
BetMassachusetts.com – where you can track 2025 Boston Red Sox odds – compiled some hypothetical odds on when the Boston Red Sox will call the No. 1 prospect in baseball (per MLB rankings) to Beantown.

Given Anthony’s strong level of performance in Worchester and Boston’s mediocre start to the season, it seems like a no-brainer that the 21-year-old former second-round pick will make his MLB debut sooner rather than later.
That’s why we’re giving Red Sox general manager Craig Breslow until next week to call the club’s top prospect up. We give +200 odds that Anthony is moved into the MLB lineup ahead of the team’s three-game home series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Those odds at Massachusetts sportsbook apps would translate to a 33.3% implied probability.
We have +250 odds that Breslow and the Sox braintrust hold off until Boston’s American League East rivalry against the New York Yankees continues in a series from June 13 through the 15th.
The odds that Breslow opts to move Anthony up this week when Boston plays the Yankees in The Bronx are slim, with +3500 of him doing so as the Red Sox wallow through their 29-32 (.475) start to the season in the Commonwealth.
For now, all we can do is guess based on Breslow’s comments about Anthony’s future to MLB.com. The GM said: "We’re trying to balance what's best for Roman and his development with where we are as a team and the way that we're prioritizing our 2025 season. And try to lean on the goals and process that you think about in the offseason, when the noise isn't quite so loud. … (It is) impossible to ignore the performance he’s had in Triple-A and how that is lining up with our struggles here at the big league level. We’re also trying to be mindful of the environment we put him in and what he still has to work on and what the pressures and demands would be and try to make the best decision we can for him.”
In the meantime, you don’t have to wait for the best Massachusetts sportsbook promo codes because they are right here at BetMassachusetts.com.
Based on current odds, the series from June 9 through 11 against the Tampa Bay Rays is the most likely. We give that a 33.3% chance, followed by the June 13-15 series vs. the Yankees (at 28.6% probability).
Despite Anthony's impressive performance in Triple-A Worcester, the Red Sox are considering several factors before his promotion. These include ensuring he has sufficient development time, managing service time considerations and addressing roster configurations to provide him with regular playing opportunities.
As of early June 2025, Anthony boasts a .303 batting average, a .430 on-base percentage and a .492 slugging percentage. He has eight home runs and 23 RBIs, as his consistent performance underscores his readiness for the major leagues.
